Mr. Stepp has completed or been involved with more than 100 mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and major restructurings and financings in the span of his career.  His experience includes such diverse industries as private equity, manufacturing, high technology, and consumer and financial services. 

 

Mr. Stepp’s past positions include Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of Collins & Aikman Corporation, a $4 Bn automotive supplier, where he led the integration, restructuring and recapitalization of the company, and Senior Managing Director and acquisitions partner of Heartland Industrial Partners, a $1.2 Bn private equity company, where he participated in the creation of a global Tier 1 automotive supplier through acquisition and integration of five companies.  He also served as Chief Financial Officer and Director of Purolator Products Company, a $500 Mn manufacturer of filtration products, where he participated in the spin off, IPO and subsequent sale of the Company, resulting in a 30% return to investors, and as Treasurer of Emhart Corporation, a $3 Bn diversified Fortune 500 Company, where he participated in 50 acquisition/divestiture transactions, $3 Bn in financings and the management of a $500 Mn pension portfolio.

 

Mr. Stepp holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, from the United States Military Academy, and a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.  He is a past Chapter President of the Financial Executives Institute, and received several commendations from the United States Army, including the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Air Medal, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Ranger Tab and Parachute Badge.
