Since 2001, Mr. Dobbins has been involved with private equity portfolio companies and working independently on private equity and other transactions.  His career experience includes executive positions in such diverse industries as commercial carpet manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, specialty textile manufacturing, and specialty beverage businesses. 

 

Mr. Dobbins’ past positions have included Executive Vice President of $400 million automotive supplier of exterior lighting parts, with two US UAW manufacturing sites and one Mexico site, where he served on the executive operating management committee and was tasked to manage the exit strategy and closure of the business for General Motors.  He was also Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Program Management for Lydall Inc., an automotive thermal and acoustics supplier where he served on the executive operating management committee, and Vice President, International Business Unit for Collins & Aikman, Inc., a Tier One automotive supplier of interior textile trim.  At Collins & Aikman, he had direct responsibility for the company’s business with Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mercedes Benz.

 

Mr. Dobbins holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Economics from the North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC.  He is a graduate of management development programs sponsored by Michigan State University, Blanchard Training and Development, Pecos Learning Centers, Miller Heiman-Strategic Selling, Decker Communications, Total Quality Management and Milliken & Company.
